Well the weekend wasn't quite as busy as expected Steph called and cancelled asking if it can be next weekend instead. His partner (also confusingly called Steph) said she will come and paint the deckhead for me at the same time as a bonus. So I slowed down (a bit) I spent some time examining the remaining original bulkhead between the bedroom and the corridor working out the details of how it needed to be altered to accommodate the new layout. Unfortunately modifying is difficult (read bloody impersossible) so I demolished it. as you can imagine it wasn't easy. it was built by some dozy bugger who had been over particular and had glued and screwed all the frame and had then used glue and tiny brads to fix the panels to avoid having fixings visible, I wonder who I was going to start framing the new bulkhead but decided not to, with virtually the whole end of the room missing, it will be much easier getting insulation, ply panels etc into the room (anyway ideally I need the floor in to give an exact level for the door frame. rather than start that I decided to have Sunday off The pump for the toilet finally arrived yesterday pm so with a bit of luck I might have my proper loo back by this evening (or maybe tomorrow )

Well as per bloody normal. I was optimistic with my timing for the finishing of the loo !!! Turned out that although the pump and motor system was interchangeable it was an absolute swine to swap the motors over I also had to wire up the control module .... when I finally worked out which colour wire went where (I didn't write it down, which would have been ok if it had been only a couple of days I would then have remembered) but with all the delay ...... ...... anyway then of course there was finally completing the three D jigsaw puzzle of the pipework around the pump It took three goes .... things have to be assembled in exactly the correct order or you can't tighten up the jubilee clips that hold the pipes in place Many cups of tea and much swearing However all the bathroom plumbing and electrics are now completed and working correctly and the floor finally screwed down so the Porta Potti can now go back on Shapfell Tomorrow I will put the carpet tiles down and fit the skirting. (making the door will have to wait until I can be sure of good weather as it will have to be done on the quay because of all the sawdust)

Everything done except the toilet roll holder, soap dish and small shelf by basin (yet to be bought as I want new ones) the door will have to wait until corridor flooring is finished (for a level) 100_0143 by mudlarker2, on Flickr Finished about 4pm yesterday. Yesterday evening started major sort out of tools and materials and put away in various store areas continued this morning. My workforce that were promised for the weekend seems to have evaporated ...... Hmmmffff !!! This afternoon started putting up the layer of DPM/extra insulation on the fwd bulkhead in the bedroom hopefully finish today. I will just continue over the bank holiday to plug along, there is the ceiling to paint and cables to run in for sockets and lighting (that is a little awkward at the moment as I'm not sure where things will go, I might just have to run cables to general areas and hope)

Looks terrific ... you must be well pleased. Rog Thank you Rog, Yes I am well pleased but I am also very relieved that it is actually finished ! I have never had a project (either private or professional) that has had as many problems and delays and given me as much grief as this. I can't believe that it has taken so long .... it's crazy! I mean, I know I'm getting on a bit and slowing down but this has been nuts

Well steady progress over the weekend as my helpers turned up on Sunday With their help we got the deckhead prepared and painted and the forward bulkhead of the bedroom panelled 100_0147 by mudlarker2, on Flickr 100_0146 by mudlarker2, on Flickr spent Monday reciprocating the work by my neighbours by sorting out the wiring on a couple of motorbikes (one was easy the other was a buxxer) Yesterday had an easy day but today I want to do bay in the corridor that had to be stripped to get to the loo waste piping and tank already cut and fitted the end plank (this morning before breakfast) 100_0144 by mudlarker2, on Flickr

as the forum seems to have got quite a bit busier than in past months I decided to start posting the occasional updates back here instead of on the Why is there no sun etc thread When there was virtually nothing else being posted it seemed ok but now? Anyway progress on the bedroom has been very slow but today finished the cabinet door, completing the pelmet that covers the running gear Pleased with the way it looks (and works) That table top is now in its third existance !!! 100_0224 by mudlarker, on Flickr Next job will be building the wardrobe .... might be interesting as at the moment I haven't got a clue how I want it to look

This mornings first job is a monster clean up and tidy in the bedroom. A lot of left over bits of wood, insulation etc and surplus tools have accumulated I need to get a lot of bits that are unlikely to be needed immediately out of the way so the dog can see the rabbit. (same goes for some of the tools) I think that before I progress any further I need to fix down the flooring (at the moment loose laid) and trim exactly to size/angle As with everything on Sabina walls are not always straight, vertical or at 90 degrees from the next wall. Nor are steel frames always the same height , angle or level As a result some of the panels need to be trimmed then fitted down. The frames for bed/wardrobe etc extend through the floor and fix to the steelwork
so the floor edges need to be in the right place for those items to be square and level
(normally means I have to do some sub framing from the steelwork to match if you see what I mean)
Anyway, it means today will be trimming 1" ply to size which means tomorrow will be clearing up the mess made by that
