Ali and me have been accepted on a St Pancras cruise scheduled for June this year. Quite excited about this, should be a memorable trip.

First time can be daunting, watch out for the wash from the fast cats. Going in to Limehouse can be "fun"

Yes in more directions than I can remember. Out from Bow is good then back in at Limehouse is a interesting diversion assuming its still possible under cart. Into Limehouse is best approached from downstream as close to the bull nose as you can, I used to rub round it with the barge. If you get really brave then the Medway beacons 🤔

Apart from on tugs Not been on the tideway for a long time. Been out at Bow Locks a couple of times on the tug Charlight and once on my Shapfell The last time with Shapfell was just before the Olympics and then came out at Limehouse. Came out very early morning before dawn so a smashing time .... no bleeding trip boats.

I always tried going upstream to do it early in the morning, not possible under cart since they restrict Limehouse to a couple or three hours either side of HTLB during office hours. Bloody stupid IMO. 5am on the river in summer time was wonderful.

We enjoyed the trip from the bar of a Clipper.
You'll no doubt love it @ianali but watch out for those pesky bridges.

Bloody stupid IMO. 5am on the river in summer time was wonderful. Schedule is to leave Limehouse at 0800 and go down through the barrier, wait for tide at Margartness then up to Teddington. Following morning there’s a run down from Teddington at 0500 back to Limehouse. We may leave return trip for a few days and hang around before going down to Brentford. We have a mooring booked in Little Venice for early July.

Have you not been back on the old channel to get expert advice from a boatless boater?
